Vintage Paolo Soleri Windbell from Cosanti / Arcosanti Arizona. The clapper (strike) is particularly appealing. Trapezoidal copper fin and old chain. Heavy and large in size. Signed by the maker. 

Paolo Soleri (1919-1913), the founder of Cosanti and Arcosanti, was an important artist, architecture, philosopher and urban planner. The Italian architect studied with Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin West in Arizona, and at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin. He would make his home and studio, Cosanti, near Taliesin West.

The first windbells made by Cosanti Originals in 1955 were ceramic bells made from natural Arizona clay. With carvings inspired by the flora and fauna of the natural world or from geometric patterns, like snowflakes, each windbell is different and one of a kind.
