Antique electrified star lantern. This special piece lit up the porch of one of Portland’s most famous residents, Linn Forest, one of the architects of Timberline Lodge, who bought it on a trip to India. Neighbors in his Irvington neighborhood claim it’s been there from at least the mid century. At some point someone electrified it.
The tin shows wear in the form of a rusty layer. This can be cleaned or polished to bring the tin back to life. It hangs from its original chain. Hard wire installation or convert to a plug end. Nice little bit of Portland history.
